Asuka Langley cosplay — ryokan swimsuit set

This Asuka Langley gallery leaves the studio entirely and moves into a traditional Japanese inn. Ten photos across tatami rooms, a wooden staircase, shoji windows, a bed by paper screens, a wooden outdoor bath and a forest deck — a ryokan setting that has nothing to do with Evangelion and everything to do with why the costume reads so strongly in it.

Costume

A red character-inspired swimsuit with white thigh-high stockings and the long orange twin-tail wig. Red against dark wood, tatami and paper screens is a much harder colour problem than red against a black studio wall, and it is the reason the set looks nothing like the plugsuit galleries.

Inside and outside

Indoors: wooden stairs, a seated frame on the bed near the shoji window, a tatami room pose, another tatami frame, a second bed shot by the paper screens, and a reclining frame in the inn lounge. Outdoors: two frames at the wooden bath and a full-body shot standing on a forest deck. Natural light throughout, warm inside and green outside.
