Cross-legged and square to the camera, Asuka Langley sits in the lounge of the inn with both hands resting loosely on her knees and her shoulders back. The chin is lifted and the gaze goes straight into the lens with a confident expression that matches the symmetrical pose.

Behind her, dark wooden shelves hold ceramic bowls and decorative vessels, lit by hidden warm strips. More light arrives from above and to the side and puts highlights on the red swimsuit against a deep, dark background. The camera is a little low and frontal, so the costume reads straight on: the high closed collar, the gray-blue pattern around it, and the white thigh-high stockings mirrored left and right.

That front view also shows the black 02 marking on the suit, the number of Evangelion Unit-02, the red machine Asuka pilots in Neon Genesis Evangelion.
