Asuka Langley cosplay — the white Rebuild plugsuit

Most Asuka Langley cosplay uses the red plugsuit. This gallery uses the white one introduced in Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance — clean white base, bold red collar and trim, dark charcoal diagonal chevrons on the thighs, gray lateral hip band and the red "02" designation on the chest. It is the rarer build, and it photographs completely differently: white latex reflects whatever color you put on it, so the costume changes hue in every frame while the fabric never changes.

The lighting rig

A red-and-blue bi-color split across crinkled metallic foil backdrops, with drifting smoke and ground fog. The foil scatters both gels at once, which is why the background reads as broken color rather than a flat wash, and the smoke gives the light something to travel through. Two frames replace the split with a single deep crimson foil field, and one uses a pink vinyl backdrop instead.

Costume details

Structured red neck-guard, elbow-length white gloves with the red diamond wrist detail, white heeled boots, and the auburn twin tails held by the red A10 clips. Asuka Langley Soryu in the original series, Shikinami in the Rebuild tetralogy — this is the Rebuild design.

Ten frames

Kneeling with a finger at the chin, arms raised in the balanced bi-color frame, a low crouch gripping one boot in blue-purple smoke, arms crossed against deep red foil, seated on the floor in purple smoke, standing in white ground fog against a blazing red backdrop, an over-shoulder pose, a bar-stool lean looking back, a recline on the dark metallic floor, and hands on hips as white smoke swirls in red.
