Asuka Langley Cosplay — Red Plugsuit CRT Studio
Neon Genesis Evangelion
10 photosAsuka Langley cosplay — red plugsuit and CRT monitors
This is the first of several Asuka Langley galleries on the site, and the one that goes hardest on set building. Rather than a backdrop, the studio was filled with stacked vintage CRT monitors, a white grid wall, a green-lit metal panel and tiled surfaces — a deliberately analogue, pre-digital environment that matches how Neon Genesis Evangelion actually looks: a 1995 series full of cathode-ray screens and hand-lettered warning text.
The plugsuit and the eyepatch
The costume is the glossy red EVA-02 plugsuit with matching gloves, the collar detail and the interface headset. The eyepatch places it precisely: this is post-2.22 Asuka Shikinami, not the Soryu of the original series, and it is the version most often searched for and least often built. One frame is an extreme close-up on the seams and the sheen alone.
Ten frames
The sequence opens framed by glowing monitors, then works through a neon-lit close portrait, the seam close-up, a full-length standing shot, hands on hips in front of the monitor stack, folded arms against the white grid wall, a legs-crossed stance in deep blue, a hip lean against the green metal wall, a folded-arms portrait on tile, and a profile frame with a red glove reaching into blue light.
The other Asuka galleries
Same character, different builds: red plugsuit with the Lance of Longinus, latex plugsuit on colour gels, the white Rebuild plugsuit in smoke, and Rei Ayanami in the same CRT studio.
