Neon Genesis Evangelion

White ground fog pools across the floor and nearly hides the boots, so the figure seems to stand in the smoke rather than on anything solid. Asuka Langley faces the camera full length with a slight twist at the waist and legs lightly crossed, one arm bent across her stomach, the other held out to the side with the gloved palm open. Her eyes lift just above the lens.

Behind her the crinkled red foil is at full strength, lit from behind and the sides so it breaks into bright scarlet highlights. A front light keeps her face clear, and the glossy suit panels pick up small red reflections.

With only white and red left in the picture, the open glove held out to the right reads as a separate gesture against the scarlet highlights.
