Neon Genesis Evangelion

Photo 10 of 10

Hands set on her hips and upper body leaning slightly toward the lens, Asuka Langley stands squared to the camera with a serious, level look. The crop runs from her head to about mid-shin, and the lean pushes the "02" on the chest toward the camera.

Smoke swirls around her head and shoulders and catches a red backlight from the right and behind, until the crinkled foil nearly dissolves into red haze. A front light from above keeps the white suit very bright against it. The curved red lines and central lozenge of the chest panel, the red collar and the faint seams from shoulder to hip all read through the haze, while the gloves on the hips mark the waist.

It is the last photo in the set, and the stance suits a character known for her pride and self-assurance.
