A2 cosplay — NieR:Automata on location

This is the second A2 gallery on the site and the opposite of the first. Instead of a clean studio and one colour, these ten photos were shot across a set of industrial rooms — red-lit brick, distressed green paint, a bare window ledge with real daylight coming through sheer curtains, and a view over the city. The NieR:Automata world is ruins and abandoned buildings, so the location does more character work than a backdrop could.

Costume and prop

Glossy black latex bodysuit with the sharp cutout lines, long gloves, thigh-high boots, the white bob, and a katana carried in about half the frames.

Three lighting worlds

Deep red side light holds the opening rear view with the katana, the kneeling frame with the lifted gaze, and the turned-away shot with the blade held behind the back. Soft daylight through the window carries the sheer-curtain frame, the window ledge with the brick wall behind, and the profile shot looking out over the city. Low-key studio light takes the relaxed seated frame, the brick-wall lean with the blade angled down, the raised-hand kneeling shot, and the final frame against a worn green wall.
