9S cosplay — YoRHa No.9 Type S

9S is the scanner unit of NieR:Automata — a reconnaissance android rather than a combat model, which is why his uniform is a coat and shorts instead of a dress and why the visor sits higher on the face than 2B's. The set builds around that difference and shoots him almost entirely in hard, single-source light.

Costume

The black YoRHa coat with the gold buttons and the ribbed collar, glossy gloves, combat boots, the white wig, and the black visor blindfold. A katana prop appears in several frames.

Three light sources

Cool blue rim light does the android work — it separates the black coat from a black background as a hard edge and produces the two cleanest full-body frames in the set. Red neon does the opposite job and floods the frame, carrying four of the ten photos including the reflective-glass seated frame and three close portraits. One frame stands apart entirely: a full-body shot at a window at sunset, with the sword and real falling light, and it is the only image in the set that is not studio-lit.
