Zero Suit Samus cosplay — Metroid

The Zero Suit is what Samus Aran wears under the Power Suit, and it has been her second silhouette since Metroid: Zero Mission in 2004. It is a deceptively hard costume: no armour, no cape, no props except the compact Paralyzer, so everything rests on the suit's seam pattern and the pose. These ten photographs shoot it across two backdrops that could not be less alike.

Two rooms

The first half uses a violet-blue mosaic tile wall with pink neon — reflective, geometric, close to the sci-fi register the character comes from. The second half moves to red brick and a metal grid wall under hard red light, which is grittier and closer to a derelict-station look. The blue suit reads cool against the first and hot against the second, and the change is what keeps ten frames of a single costume from repeating.

Poses

Seated barefoot with the Paralyzer aimed, standing with crossed legs against the mosaic, a wide seated power pose, a symmetric sofa frame, a kneeling shot on one knee, hands on hips against the brick, a rear view with the blaster held behind the back, a seated frame with the legs extended, and two low kneeling shots under red neon.
