Ryuko Matoi cosplay — the glossy Senketsu set

Senketsu is a Kamui — a living uniform that changes shape when Ryuko wears it — and the transformed version is far harder to photograph than the school uniform, because it is mostly high-gloss black and red with very little surface to catch light. The studio set solves that with hard coloured rim light and a lot of side-on and rear framing.

Costume and blade

The glossy wet-look Senketsu outfit in red and black, worn with the crimson streak in the hair, plus the red Scissor Blade carried in every frame — over the shoulder, lowered at the side, held across the body, arcing through a high kick.

Ten frames, four colours

Crimson opens the set with the blade held forward and returns for a side-profile frame that traces the outfit's contours and for the rear-view backlit silhouette. Violet holds the full-length standing shot, the centred blade-across-body frame and the wide sweeping stance. Warm orange takes the fierce close portrait and a side frame with the blade over the shoulder. Purple-pink neon carries the high kick, and a red neon backdrop closes the set with a rear view of the latex finish.
