Seen mostly from behind, Ryuko Matoi stands in a wide step and turns her head back over her left shoulder to look straight into the lens, her expression serious. The frame is full length at waist height, with the red heels whole at the bottom and most of the Scissor Blade inside the picture.

Right behind her sits a bright orange-red halo, and red rim light runs along the hips and legs, cutting her outline cleanly out of the surrounding red. Across the back, the lacquered Senketsu outfit holds mirror-like highlights.

Three spaced accents hold the composition: the turned face, the shine across the back, and the red loop of the blade's handle, set against the long vertical of the legs. It is the first of the set's two rear views.
