Rei Ayanami Cosplay — Poolside Summer Garden, Photo 6

An olive tree's twisting trunk rises beside Rei Ayanami, who sits on the stone terrace beneath its low branches and leans back on one arm. Her legs stretch out with the right knee slightly bent, and her head turns to the side under a camera that looks down on her slightly. She gazes away from the lens with a calm, thoughtful expression.

The legs make a long diagonal across the frame, and the trunk and the supporting arm answer it with a vertical. Sunlight filtered through the branches throws a net of shadows over the beige paving around the pale figure, and the white suit stands out gently against stone and bark, with a glimpse of pool water and garden furniture at the back.

Among the four terrace shots under the olive, this is the only seated one, and the trunk takes over the vertical that a raised arm gives the standing frames.
