A compact, folded pose on a black mesh lounger: legs crossed in front of her, Rei Ayanami sits with her shoulders turned to the camera. Her body angles three-quarters to the right, and she looks into the lens with a soft half-smile. The camera sits at about waist height, and the flat line of the lounger runs beneath her.

The thigh and the supporting arm make opposing diagonals over the horizontal of the chair, which keeps the shape closed and tight.
