Morrigan Aensland cosplay — Darkstalkers

Morrigan Aensland has been Capcom's flagship succubus since Darkstalkers in 1994, and the character is almost impossible to shoot badly if the wings are built properly. These ten photographs treat them as the primary subject: they are spread, half-closed, backlit and shot from the side across the sequence, and the compositions are framed to fit them rather than crop them.

Costume

Glossy purple bodysuit, white collar, emerald green hair, and the paired bat wings at the back and on the head. The wing fabric has a visible texture that the studio light picks up, which is why several frames are lit from behind — a flat frontal light would have flattened it into a shape with no material.

Studio and lighting

Three lighting states run through the set. Warm orange holds the opening pose, the tilted-head close-up and the chin-on-hand frame, all shot against crossed diagonal tape lines on the wall. Pastel blue-pink neon carries the balanced full-body stance, the shoulder portrait, the forward-hands frame and the side glance. One frame breaks the pattern entirely with hard window light beams and soft shadows, using the wings as the thing that catches the beam.
