10 photosBayonetta cosplay — the Umbra Witch in the studio
Bayonetta is a costume that only works if the surface works. The Umbra Witch of PlatinumGames' series wears a suit that is supposed to be made of her own hair, so the fabric has to read glossy and continuous under hard light — which is exactly what this set of ten photographs is testing, one saturated colour at a time.
Costume details
The build carries the recognisable pieces: the sleek black bodysuit with sculpted panel lines, the rectangular glasses, white gloves, red gloves in the opening portrait, and the gold chain accessories. A throne-like chair appears in two frames and gives the set its most composed images; a plain floor carries the rest.
Colour as structure
Rather than one look repeated ten times, each frame gets its own backdrop colour and its own body shape. Blue opens with a portrait and later holds a full-length standing shot. Warm orange takes the raised-hand-to-glasses frame. Golden yellow covers both chair poses. Red-orange holds the commanding outstretched-arm stance and a seated lean with the hand near the face. Pink and pink-red carry the kneeling frame, the asymmetric grounded-knee pose and the forward-bent finale.
