The gesture is asymmetrical, one arm folded up and one held out, and it gives the frame more energy than a symmetrical stance would. Cropped around the knees, the vertical composition keeps the long silver cross in view, lying along the center zipper of the black dress.

Pedestrians, multistory facades and pale road markings blur behind her under an overcast sky, and the flat daylight leaves nothing to compete with the expression.
