Neon Genesis Evangelion

An Evangelion mural takes up the building facade behind Misato Katsuragi in Akihabara: huge illustrated figures, mechanical shapes and oversized lettering. She stands in front of it with her weight on one leg and one hand on her waist, giving the camera an open, friendly smile.

The camera sits slightly low and frames her from the head to the knees. Her glossy black mini dress is the darkest shape against the multicolored wall. Orange traffic cones pick up the warm tones of the mural, while passersby and a blue GiGO sign complete the scene.

The backdrop suits the character: in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Misato is NERV's Operations Director, the officer who directs the Evas and their pilots in battle.
