A long covered wooden corridor at Himeji Castle runs straight back from the camera, its posts, rafters, railings and dark floorboards converging on Asuka Langley. She walks down the middle toward the lens, one foot lifted mid-step and both hands raised to her hair at shoulder height, smiling widely. The frame takes in her whole figure from about chest height.

Side light from a row of open windows lays warm stripes across the boards and leaves deep shadow under the roof. The yellow dress stands out clearly against the brown wood, with its tied straps and flared skirt, the wide blue ribbon choker, and short white socks on the planks in place of shoes.

The repeating beams give the frame a strict, symmetrical perspective, and the walking step adds movement to the gallery.
