The closest photograph in the set and the clearest look at the costume. Yor Forger is framed from the hips up in front of a black curtain, with the pale edge of an arch running down the right side. Chin lifted, she looks down into the lens with a cool, level expression.

At this distance every detail of the Thorn Princess outfit is readable: the gold headband with a rose above each ear and thin gold strands hanging beside the hair, the layered strap collar with its small pendant, the bare shoulders crossed by single straps and the glossy piping down the black bodice. The stilettos are held on two levels — one gripped at the shoulder and angled down across the body, the other at the waist and pointing straight out — so both ring pommels and the full length of both blades are in view.

The black curtain swallows the hair and the dress, leaving the face, the arms and the gold as the only bright shapes in the frame.
