Bookshelves, a globe, a desk with books and a microscope, and a board of formulas fill the study set behind Ryuko Matoi, all washed in magenta and violet. She stands turned three-quarters with a bend at the waist, the Scissor Blade carried at shoulder height: the gloved hand holds the hilt and the blade passes behind her hair, while the bare hand reaches out to the side near the globe.

The horizontal frame is cut at the hips and taken from chest height. Face and costume stay sharp while the room goes soft. Her eyes turn up and away from the camera, and the red streak in her hair repeats the color of the blade just behind it.

The weapon rests here instead of swinging, one of the quieter poses in the set.
