Rei Ayanami Cosplay — Poolside Summer Garden, Photo 3

Rei Ayanami leans on a black mesh pool lounger with her eyes closed and a faint smile, one forearm stretched along the mesh toward the camera and the other elbow propping her up. Shot close and low, at lounger height, the intimate waist-up frame keeps a sunny terrace of beige stone, a low stone wall and olive branches behind her.

The forearm enters from the bottom edge and leads the eye up to the chin, while the back of the lounger draws a dark vertical through the middle of the picture. Warm sunlight lies across the face and the white suit, and on the upper chest the 00 marking and a round red emblem sit right beside the relaxed face.

The 00 is the number of Unit-00, the prototype Evangelion that Rei pilots, here turning up next to a smile on a pool lounger.
