Rei Ayanami Cosplay — Poolside Summer Garden, Photo 1

Hard summer sun and blue pool water set the colors of the frame. Rei Ayanami sits on the pale stone edge of the pool with her feet in the water, knees together, her left palm pressed on the stone and her body slightly arched. She faces the lens over a three-quarter turn to the right and smiles slightly, with the camera set at the level of the pool edge.

The sun sparkles on the water, and the pool throws blue light back up onto the lower part of the white suit and the legs, so the costume is tinted by its surroundings rather than staying pure white. A blue mosaic band runs along the pool edge, and across the water are a garden, loungers and olive trees.

The raised elbow and the lowered legs form one vertical line that ties the stone edge to the water.
