Esdeath Cosplay, Photo 3

Esdeath sits with her legs crossed on the white sofa and leans toward the camera, holding a heavy silver chain out at arm's length. The near end of the chain falls into a deep blur in the corner of the frame, while her face stays sharp under the tilted black cap. Her other arm rests along the back of the sofa.

The out-of-focus chain gives this vertical frame real depth: it sits between the viewer and the character and pulls the eye straight to her direct, slightly challenging look. Behind her, the misty gray forest mural and a white molding frame the scene.

An offer or a threat — the frame leaves that to the viewer.
