The white towers of Himeji Castle rise in tiers behind Asuka Langley, who stands on the lawn below the stone ramparts with both hands clasped at her waist. Turned three-quarters, she smiles lightly and looks off to the side from a vertical portrait shot at about chest height.

Overcast daylight keeps the white plaster and dark roofs readable and leaves no hard shadow on the costume: a pale yellow sleeveless dress with narrow straps tied in small bows, a sweetheart neckline and a flared skirt, plus a wide blue ribbon choker. Against dark green pines and the massive stone wall, the long orange twin tails carry the strongest color.

The sundress is the outfit the character wears on her first appearance in Neon Genesis Evangelion, on the deck of an aircraft carrier; here it opens the set on a castle lawn.
