The camera sits low, so the patent boots and the stance fill the bottom half of the picture and the outstretched fist looks almost as large as the face behind it. The long side panels of the dress swing apart and show the red rose-print lining between the legs — the one flash of color against white fabric and a dark floor.

From this angle the character's reputation makes sense: a quiet city hall clerk who, once a fight starts, suddenly takes up the whole frame.
