Sousou no Frieren

Photo 6 of 10

Two tree trunks stand on either side of the figure like a pair of pillars. Frieren plants her feet apart between them, one hand on the red shaft of the slanted staff and the other resting on the bark, her head turned toward that trunk with a calm, focused look.

At waist height, the lens sets the slanted staff against the vertical trunks, and the flared white skirt forms a pale triangle at the base of the figure. Sunlight filters through the leaves from behind and to the side, breaking into small highlights on the fabric and putting a warm edge on the silver hair. Beside the gold head of the staff, the red ribbons hang loose and repeat the small red stones set into the costume.
