Back in the long wooden corridor, Asuka Langley stands close to the camera, turned three-quarters, one hand lifted to her bangs by the temple and the other hanging loosely, with a soft, slight smile. The vertical frame stops short of full length, and the corridor at Himeji Castle recedes behind her, with white lower wall panels under the beams.

Here the windows on the right do the work: their bright daylight falls on the figure from that side and lifts it off the warm wood farther back, while the roof space above stays in shadow. The pale yellow dress, the wide blue ribbon choker and the orange twin tails all catch that light.

It is quieter than the outdoor castle portraits, a still pose built on the depth of the corridor rather than the castle's exterior.
