Street Fighter

Photo 7 of 10

Two vertical light tubes bracket a brick doorway, and Juri Han balances between them on one bare foot with the other knee drawn up, one hand braced on the frame and the other on her waist. She holds the camera's eye with a serious, collected expression, seen full length from waist height.

Behind her the corridor glows orange, with an orange door and gray panels deep inside. The same warm light catches the rough brick at both sides and the exposed wiring and small devices along the top of the opening.

Balance poses suit the character: Street Fighter gives Juri a Taekwondo fighting style built around her kicks. Here the long ribbons of the belt hang loose almost to the floor, the only part of the picture that is not held still.
