Street Fighter

Photo 9 of 10

Blue, green and a little gold run in glossy, iridescent vertical bands behind Juri Han, who leans toward the camera in a low, wide stance. One fingertip touches her cheek just under the eye, the other hand rests on her waist, and she looks directly into the lens with a sly, slightly challenging expression.

The camera looks down at her from close range, so the head and shoulders come forward while the stance spreads out below them. Light from above and in front keeps the face sharp, and the green-blue reflections from the strips behind act as a colored backlight along her outline. Focus falls off softly toward the bottom of the frame.

Against that cool background, the pink glove cuffs, the ribbons in the buns and the long pink strands at her face are the warm accents.
