Sousou no Frieren

Photo 3 of 10

One raised arm forms an arch as Frieren looks up from under her palm, standing under a sunlit olive tree by an old stone wall. One leg crosses in front of the other, narrowing the lower half of the figure into a slim X, and the staff stands upright beside her as a straight vertical.

The viewpoint is slightly low, and sunlight comes through the branches from behind and to the side, putting a warm rim along the long silver hair; the same light runs along the gold trim and warms the white dress toward cream. Shadows from the branches fall in patches across the fabric, so the silhouette is drawn as much by shade as by light.

The gesture has little to do with spellcasting; it is closer to shading the eyes and looking up through the branches.
