One blade comes almost straight into the lens. The nearer sword is pushed toward the camera from below as Mikasa Ackerman leans her upper body forward into a lunge, and the short distance swells it into the largest shape in the picture. The second blade is held higher and farther back, so the two lines of steel frame her face.

The frame is horizontal and close, shot slightly from below. Her face stays sharp between the blades, the look intense and determined, while the backdrop blurs from green on the left to orange on the right, with a colored halo around the dark hair. The lighting is harder than in most of the set: crisp on the metal, gentler on the face.

Tensed shoulders and the red scarf, which adds one more diagonal across the body, complete the sense of forward pressure.
