White smoke rolls in from both sides of a gray studio and frames 2B almost symmetrically as she stands in a wide, planted stance. One arm hangs down along her hip, the other is drawn back behind her body, and her face is lifted, the blindfold turned upward.

Seen from slightly below, the full-length figure runs from the silver bob down to the heeled boots. Soft frontal light passes through the smoke, so the contrast stays moderate and the palette narrows to black, gray and white. Within that narrow range the slit dress and the blindfold hold their shape as dark forms between the two banks of smoke.

The lifted face and the arm held back give a quiet, commanding stance, with the smoke doing the framing.
