Street Fighter

Photo 4 of 10

Balanced on one bare foot, Juri Han lifts the other leg high and sends one arm up on a diagonal while the other hand trails behind her. Her body is turned side-on to the camera with the back arched, and her head turns back over her shoulder to look straight into the lens.

A slightly low, waist-level camera takes in everything from the standing leg to the raised hand. Cool violet-blue light separates the figure cleanly from alternating blue and violet pylons and a bright pale blue patch behind her. Thin highlights run along the glossy straps at her torso and hip, and the turquoise piping on the black pants follows the same curve as the arm and the arched back.

Arm and leg rise together, so the pose reads as a fighting stance given a dancer's line.
